Neo San-X Kuji: Selectable prizes for prizes with more than 1 design. Last Prize available compared to old format!
Series Sequel: 1st Neo Sumikko Kuji!
Recommended For: Any Sumikko fans!
For those who have played any San-X Kuji before, you know that the problem with the Kuji is always the lack of last prize, and also the ticket count is massive at 100! The neo format is a revised Kuji format for San-X characters, and Sumikko will kick off it’s debut set in the new format! So excited to see the prizes, let’s check it out!
Big Plush Prize (4 pieces)

Design: 4
Distribution: 4 x 1 piece each.
Prize Rating:
If you are playing a Sumikko Kuji, you most likely will be aiming for the small prizes but you won’t look pass the big prize as well! The theme for this set is a fairly theme, so all the characters are dressed as fairly. We have Shirokuma, Penguin, Tonkatsu and Ebi! All of them are 30cm plush, with Ebi being 28cm tall. Definitely huggable and if you are lucky enough to pull this, you can pick your favorite character!
Small Plush Prize (2 pieces)

Design: 2
Distribution: 2 x 1 piece each.
Prize Rating:
Next is smaller plush, but they are actually harder to pull! We have Neko and Zassou, they also have the fairly theme, they are just smaller compared to the top prize but not that small, they are 15 and 12cm tall respectively. The value for these can potentially be as much as the big plush as they are harder to pull and lesser people will get them! Cute plush so nothing bad!
Slipper Prize (2 pieces)

Design: 1
Distribution: 1 x 2 pieces.
Prize Rating:
Well if you want something useful, this is the prize to look out for! The next big prize is a pair of slipper with Ebi and Aji as the design. It’s 26cm long, so should be a standard bath slipper size, definitely good to use around your house and a cute design to showcase your liking for Sumikko! Also a harder to pull prize so don’t feel anything less than happy when you pull it!
Pouch Prize (16 pieces)

Design: 2
Distribution: 8 x 2 pieces each.
Prize Rating:
Next we have Consolation prizes in the form of a cute Pouch! We have Tokage and Neko for the design and they look absolutely adorable! The pouch are 19cm long and 17cm wide, you can put your things inside to stuff them up and they look like the actual character! What a pleasant prize! Definitely something that I would want!
Container Prize (28 pieces)

Design: 2
Distribution: 2 x 14 pieces each.
Prize Rating:
Next we have Containers, the design features the Sumikko along with their friends, I think not much difference for the character design, only exception is the color of the lid, which you can choos2 between Blue or Red. Definitely a nice prize but I think the other prizes in the set is just so much better that this might not look as good, but it’s a 12cm diameter container by 7.5cm tall, so it’s good enough to hold your snacks!
Tote Bag Prize (28 pieces)

Design: 4
Distribution: 4 x 7 pieces each.
Prize Rating:
Last but not the least, we have tote bags! They are one of the better small prizes that we anticipated even in the old format, so great to see them again! This time round the design is fairly (or should I say fairy) similar, with all the gang in the design just in different layout and the tote bag differs in color as well. It’s a 36cm wide 34cm tall tote bag, totally usable and comes in handy and you can roll and compact them so they fit in your bag or pocket when you don’t want to use them!
Last Prize

Prize Rating:
If you are looking for a Tokage Plush, this is it! The only way to get this awesome Fairy Tokage Plush is to go for a buyout! The plush is 20cm tall, smaller than the big plush but taller than the small ones, quite weird that it’s not consistent, but that’s fine, we got Tokage nevertheless! You can look for a 8- buyout, hopefully with some pouch left, or 14- with at least another Plush or slipper inside!
Grading
Big Prize
Huggable and cute plush combine with a pair of nice slippers is a good set of big prize!
Small Prize
All the small prizes are amazing, the pouch being one of the more outstanding one followed by the tote bags!
Last Prize
A nice tokage plush!
Variety of Prize
A quite standard variety of prizes for a Sumikko Kuji, similar to the old format, but at least we have better prizes!
Odds of big prizes
80 tickets with 8 big prizes
Value for Money
Well anything you pull will be lovely!
Collector’s Value
See below
Overall: B
Conclusion
I think for a Kuji that has 100 tickets with no last prize to a new format that is appealing is a form of improvement. The prizes are nice too, it’s just your average standard Sumikko Kuji, but who says standard and average is a bad thing right.
Odds
Let’s calculate your odds to get the following with one ticket from a fresh board!
Chance to get a top prize (Plush or slipper ): 8 / 80 = 10%, average
Recommendation
5 tickets for a chance at the slipper or plush, or just get some goodies!
Collectibles?
The Real Deal:
- Pouch Prize: These 2 cute looking pouches are definitely worth collecting, not hard to pull as well, you can keep either or both, so long you can display this amazing prize!
Nice to have:
- Tote Bag Prize: Getting all 4 would be nice and not as hard, they come in handy and you can hang around your house to make your place look nicer!
Collect only if you don’t already have:
- Plush Prizes: All Sumikko Plush are the same, so no point getting all, if you really like a particular character or you missed out one, it’s a good time to get them, but they are not easy to pull, maybe buy them off from marketplace instead if you like a particular design!
Skippable:
- Slipper Prize: They are very hard to pull and it’s a nice and useful slipper, but if you don’t have it, it’s perfectly fine!
- Container Prize: Just use them, no need to collect all, although it’s not hard, but they purely exist for you to use them!
