Series Sequel: 28th My Hero Academia Kuji, second in 2023!

Recommended for: Casual MHA fans, fans that prefer acrylic stand to figure

We are back with another MHA Kuji and we definitely have more to come, the only difference is that this Kuji WILL NOT have any big figures, so to avoid disappointment I shall say this first. Anyway before judging on the set, I like to take a look at the prizes first!

For past Kuji prizes, do check out My Hero Academia Ichiban Kuji Prize Index List

Prize A (2 pieces)

Top Prize Appearance: 2nd

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

So the top prizes for this Kuji are acrylic stands. They are not bad in terms of the art, we have Midoriya in his new costume and the debris as the background. The acrylic stand is 20cm tall so not small at all, I mean it’s an acrylic stand, not sure how appealing it gets.

Prize B (2 pieces)

Top Prize Appearance: 2nd

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Next we have Bakugo acrylic stand and he looks decent. He has his explosive effect, he also stands at 20cm tall, I think if you are interested to play this set you can just aim for the characters you like, I don’t think you need to collect all of them, I will explain why along the way.

Prize C (2 pieces)

Top Prize Appearance: 2nd

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Next is Shoto as expected, Acrylic stand that stands at 20cm tall as well. No effect part from him, just a calm looking pose. You can consider getting the 3 main characters if you are a strong fan.

Prize D (2 pieces)

Top Prize Appearance: Debut

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Next we have a Hero in Hawks and strangely his acrylic stand is also 20cm tall. He looks the nicest in my opinion, I mean it’s Hawks right, like what can really go wrong. If you display all 4 Heroes together they do look nice, but again it’s just acrylic stand, don’t overspend on them.

Prize E (2 pieces)

Top Prize Appearance: Debut

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Shigaraki is next and the villain for the top prizes. His acrylic stand is also 20cm tall and the sinister look of his just screams terror. He will be a good add on if you have Midoriya, again no need to get all if you just want a good collection, these are mainly for hardcore fans.

Prize F (2 pieces)

Top Prize Appearance: Debut

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

If there is anything good to take away from this set is that this set has 12 big prizes! Like it’s easier to pull a big prize compared to other sets, that being said. Dabi acrylic stand is 20cm tall, he looks good if you place him beside Shigaraki or even Shoto, so you can consider aiming for any of these pairs.

Prize G (12pieces)

Design: 6

Distribution: 6 x 2 pieces each. Blind box.

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

If there is anything I can also take away from this set, is that it comes with Mini Figures! The figures are Chokonokko but instead of the cute body variant, we have the standard body variant which looks just as good! The characters from the top prizes, I think this is definitely the prize to look out for in this set! Each piece is 6cm in size and comes with a base! They are blinded so if you have repeats do trade around!

Prize H (20 pieces)

Design: 12

Distribution: 8 x 2 pieces each. 4 x 1 piece each. Blind box.

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Wow I think the small prizes are rocking in this set! We have cable holders next and what a splendid prize for a change! The design looks like the charm but instead of a rubber charm, they made it into a cable holder! We have 12 designs but there are only 6 characters from the top prizes. We have 2 variants; a square and a circle, both function are the same, just different design, so you shouldn’t feel too bad upon pulling this as well!

Prize I (36 pieces)

Design: 12

Distribution: 12 x 3 pieces each.

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

The last prize in the small prize section, from one look I told we are having folders, but no! This is a visual board! It’s a cool looking board and again features the 6 characters from the top prizes, there are also 2 variants, one landscape and one portrait view, all is well, they are B4 in sizes and although they flood the set with so many visual board, I think you won’t feel too bad after receiving them!

Last Prize / Double Chance

Prize Rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Naturally for a set like this I expect no figures for the last prize, it is a tapestry, again featuring the 6 characters from the top prize. It is not bad, It’s A2 in size so it’s freaking huge. If you like the characters in the set and you love the design, consider a buyout of 6- tickets and hope there is at least one mini figure inside!

You will also be able to win this via double chance! So don’t rush to buyout just yet!

Grading

Big Prize

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Acrylic stand are decent, but never as good as the figures.

Small Prize

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The small prizes kind of save this set, we have awesome mini figures, cool cable holders and nice visual board to back this set!

Last Prize

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

A cool looking tapestry, but again, can’t beat a big figure!

Variety of Prize

Rating: 3 out of 5.

6 big prizes 3 small prizes seems like a standard range of prizes in terms of variety.

Odds of big prizes

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Standard 12 big prizes in a 80 tickets set, cool.

Value for Money

Rating: 3 out of 5.

The tickets are cheaper for this set, but again, I will much rather pay a bit more for a set with figures, that being said, you should see decent value in your ticket price.

Collector’s Value

Rating: 3 out of 5.

See below

Overall: B-

Conclusion

A decent set, but you already can see why, I mean it’s good that they have more big prizes but if the big prizes are not attractive then what’s the point right. They are fitting for small prizes, but to be used as a big prize is rather risky. Regardless, the mini figures are awesome and I won’t be surprised if people play this set just for them!

Odds

Let’s calculate your odds to get the following with one ticket from a fresh board!

Chance to get a big prize or Figure prize (A to G): 24 / 80 =30%, higher than average

Recommendation

2 tickets for a chance at the mini figure, or get some goodies.

Collectibles?

The Real Deal:

  • Prize G Mini Figures: They are cute and worth collecting, so either play conservatively to get them, or buy them directly if you don’t want to use your luck!

Nice to have:

  • Prize A to F: All Acrylic stand, they are nice items to have but again you don’t have to collect if you don’t want to. They are not hard to find as well, not that expensive but again if you don’t like them don’t worry about it.

Collect only if you don’t already have: NA

Skippable:

  • Prize H Cable Holder: Usable item and cool looking, but with only 6 characters in 12 designs, I think it’s not worth collecting all of them.
  • Prize I Visual Board: same reason, no need to collect all, the design is only fitting for this set!
