Recommended For: Casual Dragon Ball fan, Fans of Ginyu Force

So as you can tell from the title, this set is basically focusing on the Ginyu Force! I like that Bandai is making a lot of different characters for Dragon Ball and not just repeating the same ones over and again! If you like the Ginyu force then this set is definitely for you, if not, don’t worry about it, there might be some things out there for you. So let’s see what are the prizes in store for us!

For a list of past Kuji prizes, do visit Dragon Ball Ichiban Kuji Prize Index List

Prize A (2 pieces)

Top Prize Appearance: 19th

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

So of course we will kick start the set with the main hero, Son Goku who will be the one fighting the Ginyu Force. I mean if you already have previous version of Goku, then no need to specifically aim for this prize. However, the pose does feels different and he really looks good standing opposite of Ginyu. Figure wise is Masterlise this time round, so expect good quality and bulky figure! Figure is 24cm tall so nothing small and 2 pieces to go around!

Prize B (2 pieces)

Top Prize Appearance: Debut!

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

How can you have the Ginyu force without Ginyu himself! Ginyu looks absolutely amazing here, no fancy post but his presence just spells trouble for Goku. The figure is Masterlise as well and stands 25.5cm tall, it’s aso heavier compared to Goku. If you are too much of a Ginyu force fan, you can just aim to get Ginyu since he is the leader and one of the iconic villains, I mean there is 2 pieces to go around so definitely not shortchanging us!

Prize C (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: Debut!

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

We move onto the members of the Ginyu force starting with Recoome! He looks great here and I think if you intend to get him, you probably will want the rest of the members as well. He too is a Masterlise figure and he stands at 28cm tall, taller than both Goku and Ginyu! The sad thing is that there is only 1 piece of him in a set, but again it’s not uncommon for a side character to get a unique piece, but no worries, I will guide you on how to collect later on!

Prize D (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: Debut

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

We move onto Burter, the biggest and the fastest member of the Ginyu Force. His figure stands at an enormous 29cm and he is the tallest one in the set! I don’t think there is a Burter fan here so I assume if you want to get him, is because you want to get all members of the Ginyu force. He is a Masterlise figure too and also a unique piece.

Prize E (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: Debut

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Next is the second in command of the Ginyu Force; Jeice. He is looking great for a figure that is smaller than the rest in the set. He is Masterlise too, but stands shorter at 21cm tall, but take nothing away from the height as he is a strong character and will give you the same satisfaction if you pull him!

Prize F (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: Debut

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Last figure in the set we cannot forget about Guldo. He is the weakest and shortest member of the Ginyu Force but again that’s because his other member are so strong. You will need him to complete the Ginyu Force set so you need to aim for him as well. He is Masterlise and stands at 11cm short but his figure is still bulky.

If you place all 5 members together the definitely look like a million bucks! So do get your hands on all 5 if you are a fan!

Prize G (1 piece)

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Wait a second, we are not done with the top prizes just yet! Bandai has decided to be generous and gave us an additional top prize in the form of a storage box! The box is 20cm long, it’s not very tall but it’s good enough to store your tool kit. You can also use it to store the other small prizes in the set! Only 1 in the set so it’s definitely not a bad prize! Design wise it has the Ginyu Force logo on the top and it’s good for people who likes useful prizes!

Prize H (15 pieces)

Design: 5

Distribution: 5 x 3 pieces each.

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Next up we have Zipper Pouch and they look amazing. The design wise is attractive enough for one not to feel so disappointed upon pulling it! We have Ginyu + Goku, Bulma + Gohan + Krillin, Goku + Roshi in a car, Ginyu force and Frieza. You are able to choose your favorite and I don’t think there is a preferred design as they are all attractive for a fan. The pouch is 15cm tall so definitely not small, you can put your essentials inside or simply use them as displays along with your figures!

Prize I (24 pieces)

Design: 6

Distribution: 6 x 4 pieces each. Blind box.

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Next we have Cups, they are not your ordinary cups, Kuji cups are usually very good in quality and with the Dragon Ball Specific designs, it makes a good cup to put on your desk! The designs are similar to the pouches, we have Bulma, 2 design of Gohan + Krillin, Goku + Roshi, Goku + Ginyu and the Ginyu Force. This is a blind prize, so you cannot pick, but I think as a fan you probably will be okay with any of these! Cups are 12cm tall, so not small at all!

Prize J (32 pieces)

Design: 4 long, 4 small.

Distribution: 8 x 4 pieces each.

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Once again I like to emphasize that I am not a big fan of towels, I feel that it is a prize that is easy to make and thus save cost on Bandai’s end, however, they do make good design this time round! Usually the designs are crap, but this time round they did a good job, we have designs for all Ginyu Force member and 2 different Goku as well as a Ginyu Force team towel. All is well and as always, the long towels will be picked first so do play early to pick them!

Last Prize

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

If you really like the Ginyu Force and Goku, why not have the Ginyu Goku figure! The figure is different from Prize A, even the pose, expression and hair is not the same, and it is the first time that Ginyu Goku makes his debut! Figure is also Masterlise and stands 24cm tall, he fits in really well with the other Ginyu Force member, so why not get him as well! You can look for a 8- buyout or 15- with at least one other figures inside!

Grading

Big Prize

Rating: 5 out of 5.

All Masterlise figure and we have all 5 Ginyu Force members in the set, so if you are a Ginyu Force fan, all your figures are here! We even have an extra container in the mix!

Small Prize

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

As usual the small prizes are fairly decent and some are even nicer, quite good standard for a Dragon Ball set!

Last Prize

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

A Masterlise Ginyu Goku is nothing bad!

Variety of Prize

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Pretty standard prizes, I think it’s a miss that they didn’t have all the small prizes have individual Ginyu Force member design.

Odds of big prizes

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

80 tickets with 9 big prizes, things are looking good!

Value for Money

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

You will get a cool Ginyu Force or Dragon Ball item, so good for your value!

Collector’s Value

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Overall: B+

Conclusion

A solid and above average set! We have amazing figures tied with good small prizes and all 5 core members of Ginyu Force is featured here, we haven’t had a good Dragon Ball Kuji in a while. I think if we have Dragon Archive characters with Ginyu force and maybe more designs for the small prizes, this set would have been perfect, but all is well, I shall not complain.

Odds

Let’s calculate your odds to get the following with one ticket from a fresh board!

Chance to get a top prize (A to G): 9 / 80 = 11.25%, slightly higher than average

Chance to get a figure Prize (A or F): 8/80 = 10% average

Recommendation

5 tickets for a chance at a Figure and also get some goodies, you could play at 5 separate instances to test your luck! If you want a more secure approach, you can look for a good buyout with as member Ginyu force members, hopefully 20 and below, then hunt down the rest on the market.

Collectibles?

The Real Deal:

  • Prize B to F Ginyu Force figures; these are the main attractions here, so if you want to play this set they are definitely the prizes to collect!

Nice to have:

  • Last Prize Ginyu Goku: If you have the space and budget, do get the Ginyu Goku as well as he looks good together with the others!
  • Prize G Storage Box: This is a good item to collect as well, it’s a good storage box that fits the theme and can store your other prizes! So if you have the chance it’s good to buy or pull it!
  • Prize J Towels: Yes I think the towels are amazing, with all the members as well as Goku and they are not hard to get! So keeping all 8 as well will look good along with your figure collection!

Collect only if you don’t already have:

  • Prize A Goku: Goku has many appearances in the past, so an additional one will not be necessary for collectors unless you don’t own one!

Skippable:

  • Prize H Pouch: As much as they are nice, it’s not meant for collection, so just get your favorite design to use!
  • Prize I Cups: Same reason as above, nice item to use, you don’t want to spend too much to collect all the designs, they are blinded too so not that easy to get all 6.
