Ichiban Kuji: Selectable prizes for non-blinds small prizes. Double chance included if your country carries this Kuji.
Series Sequel: 49th Dragon Ball Kuji set. 5th in 2022.
We continue our usual routine by having more Dragon Ball set this year, actually it’s not as common as people think, there has only been 4 other sets this year and most of them are pretty different from one another, so hope this time round, it’s also different from the others. This set is the Omnibus set, so hope we get to see some cool characters! Let’s dive right into it!
For a list of past Kuji prizes, do visit Dragon Ball Ichiban Kuji Prize Index List
Prize A (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: 9th, 8th solo!
Prize Rating:
Well, we have Super Saiyan Gohan to kick off the set, the previous set he has a posing action but this time round he is in a standing posture. Figure this time round is Masterlise, so nothing bad at all, he stands at 25cm tall, and this is the first time you are getting a standing still figure for Gohan, and it’s only 1 piece in the set, so really nothing bad upon pulling it!
Prize B (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: 5th
Prize Rating:
I still can’t believe that such a well known character like Piccolo only appears 4 other times for a Kuji franchise that has last for more than 14 years! He looks great here, Masterlise as well, the figure is slightly shorter at 19cm as you can see he is not standing still. A good figure to pull as well and if you don’t already have his past figure, this is a good time to do so, unique piece so won’t be easy to pull!
Prize C (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: 3rd, debut as first form!
Prize Rating:
Next we have something fresh in the form of Cell! He has made appearance before, but this is the first time he debut in his first form, which looks absolutely amazing! Even the tail looks great. Masterlise as well, stands at 27cm tall and definitely the popular piece that every collector would want to get, so do look out for this!
Prize D (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: 16th
Prize Rating:
Of course we are going to get at least 1 version of Goku, this being Goku Super Saiyan Gold. Not a bad figure, at least the outfit differs from the others previously released. A simple looking figure, Masterlise and stands 25cm tall. Also unique piece.
Prize E (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: 18th
Prize Rating:
This is surprising, not for the wrong reason but they featured another Goku, this time round no Super Saiyan, just normal Goku. He looks great, the outfit is the same as Prize D so you can put them together, he does comes with a changeable head where he wears a sunglasses so that’s a feature that might attracts you. Figure is Masterlise Emoving (just a fancy name for Masterlise figures with head change), also 25cm and unique piece.
Prize F (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: 3rd
Prize Rating:
Up next we have Trunks, he definitely looks great here with the sword attached to his back. I believe this is his first Masterlise figure. He stands at 23cm tall and no flashy pose, just ready to battle kind of pose. He doesn’t appear as often so good time to get him in this set as well.
Prize G (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: 4th, 2nd as Majin Vegeta
Prize Rating:
Last figure in the top prize list, we have Majin Vegeta Super Saiyan Gold. If you are sick of pulling Vegeta, perhaps a Majin version would be more appealing to you, and you can tell yourself that you are pulling something different! Masterlise as well, 23cm tall and as you can see, all figures here are unique to the set, so won’t be easy to get all.
Prize H (2 pieces)

Design: 2
Distribution: 2 x 1 piece each. Blind packs
Prize Rating:
I think going forward, we will have large acrylic stand to replace 1 of the figures for the top prize list. They are not bad, but any fans of Dragon Ball would tell you that they would prefer a figure over anything else. The design however looks great, we have Goku riding a dinosaur and Goku Gohan riding their bike, so each has their own appeal. This time round the acrylic stand are blind packs, so you are not able to choose them, hope you pull what you wanted!
Prize I (18 pieces)

Design: 4
Distribution: 2 x 5 pieces each. 2 x 4 pieces each. Blind box.
Prize Rating:
Next we are here at the small prize section, we kick things off with mugs. These are a little special, not only do their color differs but they have lids with different character logo and you can easily open and close the lid, so you can keep your hot drinks warm with this mug. Very unique design, feels like they are not trying to shove this to us for the sake of it.
Prize J (24 pieces)

Design: 6
Distribution: 6 x 4 pieces each.
Prize Rating:
Next we have Folder set, each prize comes with 2 folders, each with a design adapted from a scene in the anime. They look good, hopefully the fans are still attracted by such design, anyway I believe at this stage the Dragon Ball fans are just looking forward to the figures, they can only hope that the small prizes are not too bad.
Prize K (31 pieces)

Design: 4 long, 4 small
Distribution: 1 x 3 pieces each. 7 x 4 pieces each.
Prize Rating:
Lastly we have towels, because Bandai likes to give us towels. At least the design are all the characters being featured in the figures for this set so not that bad I guess. You can choose between long or small towels but I believe that the long ones will be picked first.
Last Prize / Double Chance

Top Prize Appearance: Debut as Innocent Buu
Prize Rating:
Okay I think the last prize is what everyone is waiting for. This is the first time that Majin Buu has appear as Innocent Buu! Masterlise as well, 26cm but the bulkiest among all and the heaviest figure, definitely worth the buyout! You can look for a 15- buyout or 22- with at least 1 figure left.
What is great is that this is also a double chance figure! So you have a shot at this with every ticket purchased!

Conclusion
Another average set for Dragon Ball. The set is not bad actually, it does have good figures, but most are repeated characters so the attractiveness might not be there, the small prizes at this stage are exhaustive for buyers, most of the time I think no one really cares about the small prizes because they don’t look like a lot of work is being done to make them look good. That being said, this is definitely not a bad set and I hope we can have more figures in the future.
Odds
Let’s calculate your odds to get the following with one ticket from a fresh board!
Chance to get a top prize (A to G): 9 / 80 = 11.25%, slightly higher than average! But do follow the next line if you don’t ever think a large acrylic stand should be a big prize.
Chance to get a figure prize (A to F): 7 / 80 = 8.75%, slightly lower than average
Recommendation
5 tickets for a chance at Cell or at least one other figure or look for a good buyout!
Collectibles?
The Real Deal: Majin Buu is a definite must for collectors, this is his debut and I think no collector should pass this opportunity to get him. Cell is also a must as I think this will be his only appearance in first form for the next half decade or so. Do find ways to pull them, best is a buyout with C inside!
Nice to have: Trunks is definitely a figure is worth getting as well, I mean he isn’t as popular as the ones in real deal, but he doesn’t appear as often, so it would be good to get a Masterlise Trunks. You can find ways to trade for this figure if you haven’t pull it.
Collect only if you don’t already have: Piccolo, Gohan, Vegeta and Goku are all the characters that has appeared before, so if you wish to skip them, it’s totally understandable. However, if you pull them, then nothing bad, you can keep them for trades in the future!
Skippable: All small prizes and acrylic stands. The small prizes here are not worth the collection, as for the acrylic stand, I doubt they will have a collection theme, so don’t spend too much effort in getting them.
