Released Date: 16 Feb 2022

Ichiban Kuji: Selectable prizes for non-blinds small prizes. Double chance included if your country carries this Kuji.

Series Sequel: 21st Eva Kuji, second in 2022

The previous Eva set was a bit disappointing as no Eva Units was featured, so fans should be excited for this one as we are getting 2 Eva Units in this set once again!

Prize A (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: 6th

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Eva Unit 01 is once again the top prize for the set, but surprisingly it doesn’t appear as often, this version has a different post from past figure, it has the spear. It also comes with the base and if you are a fan, you definitely won’t want to miss this out. The only downside is the rarity, it’s going to be so hard to pull this.

Prize B (1 piece) / Double Chance

Top Prize Appearance: 2nd

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Great to see that the figures are consistent in their pose. Eva Unit 13 also hold it’s spear and has a base, if you place Eva Unit 01 side by side with it, you will have a great display of 2 Eva Units Showing Down. Everything is great except the rarity part, they could have included 2 pieces of these in a set so we all have an easier time pulling it.

If you are unable to pull this amazing figure, you can hope for a double chance win as well. Perhaps you can buy more tickets and increase your chance for this piece if you really want it.

Prize C (1 piece)

Top Prize Appearance: 2nd

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Shinji is back again and this time round, he has a different suit. It’s a rare figure but I believe everyone is here for the Eva Units, still it’s not bad pulling a figure, moreover a rare one.

Prize D (2 pieces)

Top Prize Appearance: 19th

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Asuka looks like she is so sick of being featured in every Eva Kuji, she does look different from her previous figures, the jacket is different and her facial expression is really unique, like she really gives you the I don’t want to be here vibe.

Prize E (2 pieces)

Top Prize Appearance: 15th

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Rei looks great here, her long hair is really outstanding and I believe this is the figure where there are people who legit wants it apart from the Eva Units.

Prize F (28 pieces)

Design: 8

Distribution: 4 x 4 pieces each. 4 x 3 pieces each.

Prize Rating:

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Towels are one of the lower tier prizes, even for a small prize and the fact the design feels too simple, like it doesn’t show any effort to attract you to get it. I must say I am disappointed, like I understand the need to give lower tier prizes but at least design it nice enough so we don’t feel bad for buying.

Prize G (17 pieces)

Design: 8

Distribution: 1 x 3 pieces each. 7 x 2 pieces each.

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3 out of 5.

The pouch bag looks decent, as a prize it definitely is better than the towel, you can use it as a pouch or sling it as a mini bag. The design wise features the Eva Units, but could have been better.

Prize H (28 pieces)

Design: 12

Distribution: 4 x 3 pieces each. 8 x 2 pieces each.

Prize Rating:

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Folder set isn’t too much better but at least they gave you 2 folders per prize; one is a sketch of the main characters, the other is an art from the anime with a little effect, the effort is there, but not too attractive overall to really get the wow.

Last Prize

Prize Rating:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

If you are unable to pull Prize A, buying out would be ideal. This variant has shiny effect and would make your Eva Unit 01 looks so much cooler. I would suggest a 15- buyout, 20- if a figure is still inside, if that figure is one of the Eva Unit, then a 25- buyout would be great too.

Conclusion

If not for the Eva Units, this set would have been a disaster. The small prizes are really mediocre, I feel that Bandai doesn’t seem to be consistent in all their prizes. The Humans are great, just that people don’t buy tickets for that, the Eva Units are amazing, but there are only 2 in every set to pull, which brings us back to the older days, I hope they do give us more Eva Units in the prize pool. The last is amazing, so hope last prize will always be an Eva Unit.

Recommendation

3 tickets for a chance to get A or B, or wait for a good buyout

Collectibles? : Both the Eva Units are worth collecting, Rei is good to collect too.
