Ichiban Kuji Moomin Relaxing Picnic Time

Great to see Moomin back again with another Kuji set, always like characters that pops up once a while. The theme here is a picnic, similar to most other picnic Kuji we have so far this year.

Retail Price: 680 Yen

Total Tickets: 65

Release Date: 31st July 2021

As you can see from the Yen price, this Kuji unfortunately does not have Singapore Licensing, however there might be some shops that are parallel importing and if they do I will put up any updates here. The total tickets is normal for a plush Kuji so let’s get started!

Prize A (3 pieces)

Great to see Moomin as the first prize, I mean who else do you expect righ. The plush is really long and really make you feel like you won something. There are 3 pieces to go around in this set so plenty to go around, great that such a big plush are not unique.

Prize B (2 pieces)

Little My doesn’t exactly have the cuteness like most plush but as a collector or fan of Moomin you will want this plush as well. She holds a sunflower so if you want to display it will add some extra aura. It’s a big prize after all so no harm pulling it.

Prize C (1 piece)

If you are not into plush, then maybe this table will attract you more! It’s rare that a mini table is given out as a Kuji prize, this one looks great! You can use as a picnic table or simply just a mini table for kids or for you to put your things on while relaxing at home. There’s only 1 piece in the set, and I am not even mad here, it makes the prize more valuable and since it’s not a collectable item, making it unique just feels right.

Prize D (2 pieces)

Well in case the table is not attractive enough for you or you think there are not enough non-plush big prize for you, how about a gigantic picnic mat! The design for this mat is amazing and the quality of the mat is good, for if you manage to pull it you definitely would feel like winning a prize!

Prize E (18 pieces)

The coasters are amazing, wow, like the design shows how much effort they put to come up with this prize. It looks so attractive that you won’t feel too bad for pulling it. It’s super usable too or if you prefer to display them, you could too!

There are 6 designs, each has 3 pieces in a set, non-blind, so pick your favorite !

Prize F (20 pieces)

Okay no sugarcoating in my post, I feel that the towels design feels a little too simple for a prize, I know we will definitely need to have a small prize in the set but at least Bandai can put more effort into this? I don’t think people will notice them as a Moomin theme towel, if that’s the case, it kind of defeat the purpose of prize.

There are 4 designs, 5 each in a set, not blinded too but not hard to find, actually you probably won’t even want to collect them all.

Prize G (20 pieces)

Okay at least the bottles are not bad, the designs look fabulous and it’s useful, you can’t ever say a bottle is not useful right? It’s a small one but it can contain 300ml so it’s really not that bad.

There are 4 designs, 5 pieces each in a set, and not blinded too.

Last Prize

Great to see the last prize has a different character! Snufkin makes his rare appearance here and if you are a fan, this should motivate you to buy out the set! A unique plush, but again, it’s a plush, I think 10 or less is a good number to buyout if everything else left are small prizes.

Conclusion

So Moomin Kuji is not that bad, you will see people playing a few tickets for fun and move onto other Kuji, it’s normal, even if they have amazing big prizes, people usually will go for 5 or less tickets, if they really want something then maybe 10. If you are a fan, 3 to 5 tickets is more than enough for this Kuji, the worst it can get is all towels, but the odds of that happening is not big.

Grading

CriteriaScore (Upon 10)
Design8: A very good picnic theme and all prizes are relevant to the theme design.
Top Prizes8: Plush are great, the non-plush item are even better, they are usable and would make you feel like a winner!
Small Prizes7: The towels are really bad, like I can’t say a lot of good things about it, but the bottles and coasters are good, so if you are into small prizes then everything here should be just average for you.
Last Prize7: Unique character, definitely have the drive for a buy out, however it’s a plush so not too sure if people would really buy more than 10 tickets just for it.
Monetary Value7: Depending on how much you are paying, but for now paying a 680 yen to play and get the prizes is just decent, apart from towels I believe you will feel like you spend you money well.
Collection Value5: None of Moomin past items are worth collecting in the long run. Plush toys are really bad at growing demands and make the value rise, the other prizes will sell but in the long run there will be other better prizes superseding it, so don’t bet on investing a full set and hoping it will grow, just play casually and use and adore the prize!
Overall70% B, an average Kuji that has good theme and some good prizes, it does what it has to do for a character that doesn’t have a Kuji set released monthly, so for a casual Kuji set, just play a few tickets and we can all move on. I mean at least it’s still decent, could always been worst.
