Wow it was like 12 years ago when Kamen Rider celebrate it’s 10th anniversary, time flies doesn’t it. I cannot find the promotional poster for the Kuji so the ticket count and the prizes count won’t be available. Let’s talk a look at what goodies this past Kuji brought us back then.

I don’t have information about the price as well, but it should range around 500 to 600 yen?

Prize A

I am not sure if you remembered but back in the days, the Rider head collection was a huge thing and some rider heads were so hard to get that people paid SGD200 for 1! Decade has a very unique design with all past 9 Heisei riders face on the base and for Rider head collection this is a fantastic top prize.

Prize B

Okay first of all, do know that in 2009, most figures do not have the standards yet, but it’s a figure after all! This probably kicks off the collection so collectors will have to hunt for all the main riders’ final form figure and it’s a good drive to buy Kuji and also look out for future sets as well as attract future buyers to hunt for this.

Prize C

Ryuki has an amazing stand and background effect. It’s basically a mirror but it fits his theme. Wonder what makes them choose Den-O and Ryuki as the main riders for the top prize but hope they were attractive enough for people to want to buy this Kuji set.

Prize D

Well good to know that mugs existed a decade ago so not every prize is astonishing but it’s a metal cup with a Rider logo so it probably draws attention to fans and people wouldn’t mind obtaining this.

Prize E

Even a pen looks so cool back then. You get a pen shaped into a Rider’s weapon which is so cool. What is even cooler is that they have sounds in it. Even if you don’t bear to use it, you can use it for display!

Prize F

Towels existed back then, but what is so special about these is that these are extreme long towels, 20cm by 100cm, you can use as body towel which nowadays use it as a top prize Back then was a small prize and you can see how we have “evolve”. Awesome looking designs.

Prize G

Wow things just keep getting better, apart from given you a sheet of stickers, they give you a legit figure charm as well! This doesn’t even feel like a small prize, it’s a super good consolation prize, how I wish things were this good till today.

There are 4 designs, shockingly, 2 dark riders (Dark Kiva and Ryuga) are inside rather than a main rider. Not blinded too, they probably haven’t found out this redundant gimmick yet.

Last Prize

Similarly to the prize A, this is the gold variant and someone were to be crazy to collect all Rider Head, this would be another one to look out for. Definitely a good motivator for a buy out, most importantly, it looks attractive and I think people would pay for it.

Conclusion

Every time I do a Retro Kuji I get so envious about people in the past. Nowadays Rider Kuji is like 2 big figure, 20 small figures and all the rest are visual art, charms, coasters and towels Where did all these awesome prizes went to! All the prizes in the retro Kuji set looks great, even the mugs looks legit and that’s a small prize. Basically you can see that the small prizes in this set are top prizes in our current sets which is so sad, will we be getting a sheet of stickers for small prizes in future Kuji?

With all being said, I think we should appreciate all those good prizes we get for Kuji nowadays before they become history.
